I saw a video on this a while ago and was disgusted. Its so unfair to everyone and takes the fun out of it.

I mean if you’re in something ‘for the money’ cosplay is NOT the way to go 😭 Unless you’ve got steady commissioning/followers I can’t even see that being profitable. In fact, the cost to commission someone or the material and time it takes would not be worth prize money (it’s cool and all, but no…) Cosplay should be done for the love of a hobby. Anyway, that’s also just straight up dirty. Why would anybody be cheat at a craftsmanship show? 😭

Yo this cosplay contest was my very first time competing actually. And I remember seeing that cosplay win an award and I thought "What a great cosplay, definitely deserved to place" But little did I know... It's honestly just so low and scummy.

Yeah I can’t believe people do that when other people spend weeks even months making their amazing cosplay! I’ve seen a few videos about cheating in contests and as someone who has won RIGHT NEXT TO T H E CHEATER… :) I have a few words. - ITS DISRESPECTFUL💀HUNDREDS of cosplayers apply to be in contests all the time, they spend HUNDREDS- maybe even THOUSANDS of hours sewing, glueing, crafting, painting, and spending time on their cosplay. Some get into contests, some don’t.. and for cheaters to get in willy nilly and WIN??? (That person won $500 at fanx btw :)) it’s incredibly disrespectful. - ITS STUPID💀you will most likely get found out and literally everyone at cons and will hate you- people will do anything for money I guess🙄🙄 - ITS SCUMMY🤮someone with actual talent can get a DESERVED win.. but you show up in a bought cosplay and steal it from someone who rightfully deserved it. Frick you. But the other word🕺 - bottom line.. I miss early 2010s con core. Everyone was happy and cringe, yes competitions were a thing but the community was mostly about COMMUNITY and having fun and sharing creativity. With social media.. (obvi not the whole community) but a lot of it has turned into a competition on who can get bigger numbers or who is the best.. and for people to go con to con knowing their (bought) cosplay would win in a certain category is absolutely disgusting. (I also think if you KNOW you should be in a higher category but stay low in better chances at winning.. that’s also super scummy but that’s a convo for another day) - even more bottom line. Just make sure you are having fun. There is nothing wrong with competing unless you are going into SOLELY to win/make money. That’s loser behaviour🙄🫶 Anyway.. luv you all, hope you guys are doing so amazing and so slay.. luv yall🫶💕💗💕💗
